A SUPPORT group for people with breathing problems will be on hand to give information about asbestos.

Breathe Easy Portsmouth South is to run the asbestos awareness stand.

People will be able to have a lung function test carried out to see how healthy their lungs are .

The test will be carried out by staff from Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham, Portsmouth.

The stand will be outside the B&Q store, in the Pompey Centre, Fratton Way, Fratton.

Group chairman Eric Compton said: ‘There are one million people that are out there with asbestos problems that are not diagnosed.

‘As it’s the time of year that DIY is carried out, we need to make the public aware there could be asbestos in the home in things like Artex, which could be disturbed.’

The stand will be outside the store on Wednesday, June 20, at 3pm.
