A man has keeled over after allegedly taking legal highs in Fareham.

The incident happened just after 5pm tonight and paramedics were called.

The man, who is thought to be in his 20s and from Gosport, was taken to hospital.

His friends said they believed he had been taking a legal high, which he had smoked, before collapsing down the alleyway next to McColls newsagents in West Street.

Acquaintance Kristal Geary, 23, said: ‘I want that stuff banned. It needs to be banned. I have tried it and it made me hallucinate and think a man was following me down the road. He had three tokes and look what’s happened to him. It’s dangerous.’

Michael Parker-Bramwell, 21, said: ‘I rang the paramedics. I saw him, he said he was getting a bit wobbly and then he just went like that and collapsed.’
