PUBLIC meetings are being held to gain people’s opinion on whether a health trust should have more control on how it’s run.

Solent NHS Trust is applying to become an NHS foundation trust.

Chief executive Dr Ros Tolcher said: ‘We are really looking forward to this formal process of engaging with people who use our services or have an interest in what we do.

‘Listening to a range of views about our aspiration to become a foundation trust will help ensure our plans are supported locally.

‘I would really encourage everyone to share their views.’

A consultation on the plans started in March and run until May 28.

Public meetings in the Portsmouth area are taking place at the following dates, places and times:

· Thursday, May 10, Langstone Centre, University of Portsmouth, Langstone Campus, Furze Road, Southsea, from 1pm to 3pm.

· Thursday, May 24, Holiday Inn, Cartwright Drive, Titchfield, from 6pm to 8pm.
