A MENTAL health charity is looking for volunteers to help to perform a motivational play around the city.

Portsmouth-based group Feel Good UK has received National Lottery funding to make a short performance which aims to teach people to be positive about life.

The 30-minute play tells the story of two opposing characters – Paul Feelgood and Peter Feelbad – in an attempt to demonstrate the charity’s advice about managing stress levels.

Called You Can Choose Your Mood, the performance asks the audience to question their knee-jerk reactions to the world.

The charity is seeking volunteer actors, and stage crew. Applicants can email their acting or crew CVs to the charity at

Feel Good UK CEO Steven Surridge said: ‘Feel Good UK will be touring You Can Choose Your Mood around Portsmouth to make locals aware that happiness truly is an inner job, and that only by choosing thoughts that feel good within themselves can people start to lead much more happier lives.’
