The mum of a Havant boy who met the Duchess of Cambridge has told of her delight.

Blake Warren, aged nine, was one of a group of children who enjoyed a tea party with the Duchess as she visited the Naomi House Hospice in Sutton Scotney near Winchester.

His mum Elspeth said: ‘It was really lovely.

‘She wasn’t rushed and she spoke to all the children.

‘The importance of this for us is that it raises awareness of the hospice and the work that it does with families like us.’

Elspeth was one of the parents who joined children in the pool for a regular water session, which Kate watched.

She said: ‘She wasn’t concerned that she was right by the pool and that we were getting her wet as we splashed.

‘She was still happy to shake hands and was absolutely genuine.’
