New app to make life easier for blood donors

A NEW phone app has been created to help blood donors manage their sessions.

Under the NHS Blood and Transplant development, people can book and manage their own appointments.

The app, called NHSGiveBlood, also allows you to search for a session based on your location.

Jon Latham, assistant director of donor services and marketing for NHSBT, said: ‘We recognise people lead busy lives and we want to make donating as easy as possible.

‘Our developments enable donors to self-service 24/7 in whatever way they wish to contact us, wherever they are.’

Latest blood donor sessions are: Tuesday, July 8, Waterlooville Community Centre, in Maurepas Way, from 11am to 1.30pm, and 3pm to 5.30pm.

n Wednesday, July 9, The Victory Lounge, Fratton Park, Anson Way, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, and 4.30pm to 7.30pm.

n Monday, July 14, Stamshaw Leisure Centre, Wilson Road, from 1.30pm to 3.25pm and 4.30pm to 7.30pm.

n Tuesday, July 15, The Victory Hall, Warsash Road, from 2pm to 4.30pm, and 5.30pm to 8pm.
