THE authority that looks after healthcare in the south of the country has welcomed a new director for public health.

Dr Yvonne Doyle has taken on the role for the strategic health authority NHS South of England, with immediate effect.

Dr Doyle said: ‘I’m delighted to take on this role at an important juncture for the NHS and public health services.

‘I look forward to building on the work that is already taking place to support the transition of public health functions to local authorities to deliver high quality services.’
