EYE patients look set to get new facilities at St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester next year.

Today, the hospital trust’s board will be asked to approve the release of £1.8m for the project, which would start this October, with staff scheduled to move into the new building next July.

A total of £1m has been set aside, with the rest to be paid out of its capital fund next year. The new unit would be on the first floor of the hospital’s west block and would include a separate children’s waiting area.
