VOLUNTEERS who transfer blood to hospitals in the Portsmouth area now have a base to call home.

Serv Wessex – the UK’s largest blood bike organisation – covers Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire and supplies hospitals with blood, frozen baby milk and samples.

The group’s head office will be at the Southampton and District Motorcycle Club, in Eastleigh.

Stuart Graham, Serv Wessex co-ordinator, said: ‘We are grateful to the Southampton and District Motorcycle Club for generously allowing us the use of their premises.

‘Having a base gives us the ability to host our own events and somewhere to store our equipment as well as acting as a focal point for our members.’
