PATIENTS who struggle to get to a dentist can now be treated onboard a mobile dental clinic.

Hampshire Community Health Care (HCHC) has launched the new mobile dental unit for people who can’t easily go to dental surgeries because they are disabled or have difficulties getting there.

The unit is based at Waterlooville Health Centre but can travel anywhere around Hampshire, to special needs schools or other health centres.

Lisa Dugan, the scheduled care manager for HCHC, said: ‘We are very excited by this new provision for our patients.

‘The specially-adapted unit has a platform lift and wheelchair recliner to enable disabled access. It allows the patient to remain in the safety and comfort of their own wheelchair at all times throughout the treatment.’
