THREE new lay members have been appointed by two trusts that buy health services for the area.

The individuals will become part of a board which decides matters involving healthcare in south-east Hampshire.

Margaret Scott will ensure there are developing levels of integrated care in the community, while Nick Wilson will have responsibilities for patient and public involvement, in the South Eastern Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

Chairman Dr Barbara Rushton said: ‘We are absolutely delighted to have gained people of such high calibre and a strong understanding and awareness of how the NHS operates.’

The Fareham and Gosport CCG has appointed Pat Shirley to focus on workforce development and developing integrated care in the community.

Ms Shirley said: ‘I believe in good healthcare that aids a patient to recover or supports a patient to live with their condition.

‘I greatly look forward to supporting staff to deliver excellence.’
