THE group which will be commissioning health services for Fareham and Gosport from next April has made a top new appointment.

Dr Ian Reid, a consultant in geriatric medicine, has been appointed as the secondary care representative on the governing body of Fareham and Gosport Clinical Commissioning Group (F&G CCG).

Dr David Chilvers, the CCG’s clinical chairman, said: ‘Ian has considerable experience of medical involvement in management, having previously served as medical director of both Portsmouth Healthcare NHS Trust and the former East Hampshire and Fareham and Gosport primary care trusts.’

F&G CCG represents 21 GP practices with a £218m budget covering acute hospitals, community and prescribing services for 200,000 people.
