A NEW pharmacy has opened as part of a major redevelopment in Gosport.

Jaffer’s Pharmacy is the third unit to open in Grange Road, Rowner, Gosport, and is next to the Tesco superstore.

The pharmacy, its customers and the community were all blessed by Sheikh Fazle Abbas Datoo at the opening.

Owner Dr Jaffer A Jaffer opened his first pharmacy with wife Nowsheen in the former MoD precinct back on August 6, 1984.

He said: ‘The shopping centre in Rowner was a thriving precinct in 1984.

‘There was a great village atmosphere here and I served mainly naval families.

‘I put the shop’s long-term success and popularity down to the caring attitude of my loyal staff team.

‘Corrina Greest has worked for me for 16 years while Julia Campbell and Shahena Khatun have both worked for six years now.

‘It is all about the personal service we offer and we truly feel part of the community.

‘We have evolved to provide many new services including medication reviews, smoking cessation services and flu vaccinations.’

‘My brand new shop looks great and was designed by my architect and friend Hamid Samiy together with DMJ contractors.’

The units are at the centre of the mult-million pound Rowner Renewal Partnership regeneration work in Rowner.
