THE Rowans Hospice is appealing for more volunteers to help run its new reception area.

Volunteers would be providing a clerical role at the hospice in Purbrook Heath.

They would deal with enquiries from visitors, relatives and medical staff, as well as taking calls for fundraising.

Applicants need to be able to give up four-and-a-half hours on a regular basis, be confident, courteous and considerate to others.

Hayley Hamlett, voluntary services manager at the Rowans, said: ‘We are looking for some very special people to fulfil the reception office role on a rota basis for just a few hours a week each.’

Volunteers are needed to start from September.

Although a voluntary role, expenses will be paid.

Anyone interested should call Hayley Hamlett (023) 9223 8538.
