THE trust that has taken over a health campus has admitted parking enforcement is not taking place fully.

Solent NHS Trust now owns the land where St Mary’s Community Health Campus, in Milton Road, Portsmouth, is based.

But it has admitted communication with car park managers have broken down and has meant a reduction in the number of parking enforcements taking place.

Robert Steele, director of infrastructure, said: ‘Regrettably we haven’t been able to conclude contract negotiations with a selected car park management company on time and has resulted in limited enforcement of parking restrictions.

‘We hope to move towards a new parking management system very shortly but would encourage anyone parking at the health campus to observe parking conditions and restrictions to avoid risk of being issued with a parking notice.’

The trust said it has been reviewing parking arrangements at the site to improve availability of spaces for patients, visitors and staff.

One of the plans includes having an independent contractor to manage the car park.

In the meantime, the trust said car parking attendants have been patrolling the area to prevent inappropriate parking.
