THE NHS is appealing for more people to give blood and help save lives.

Donor sessions are taking place across the area on the following dates:

n Monday, August 15 – St James’s Hospital, Locksway Road, Milton, Portsmouth, from 11am to 1.30pm and 3pm to 5pm.

n Wednesday, August 17 – Bridgemary Community College, Wych Lane, Gosport, from 1.30pm to 3.25pm and 4.30pm to 7.30pm.

n Friday, August 19 – Cosham Community Centre, Wootton Street, from 1.30pm to 3.25pm and 4.30pm to 7.30pm.

To be a donor you need to be aged between 17 and 65, weigh more than 50kg (7st 12lb) and be in general good health. There is no upper age limit for donors who have donated in the last two years.
