MORE information on the types of medication people take is being offered online.

Solent NHS Trust, which provides Portsmouth area with community and mental health services, has launched online help about mental health medicines and how various drugs work. It also includes information on any known possible side effects.

The Choice and Medication section of the trust’s website holds questions and answers on around 110 commonly-used medicines in mental health.

Don Muvuti, acting associate director for community and psychological services, said: ‘We truly believe it’s important to empower our patients and we are pleased we can now offer help with medication through our website.

‘Helping people to access information about their condition and drugs can help them through their recovery journey or learn how to live with their condition.’

The site also offers information on some mental health conditions and treatment comparisons.
