IT’S time once again to say a huge thank you to our dedicated health heroes.
Today The News is launching the Best of Health Awards 2012.
In its third year, we are inviting people to start nominating those that have shown tireless care and attention to patients in the health sector.
We’re looking for the unsung heroes, who go that extra mile and make the health service what it is, and recognise them for their hard work.
All you have to do is share your inspiring stories and experiences with staff such as doctors, nurses, dentists, community workers or specialist teams.
There are 12 categories, which cover all sectors of the health service, from care in hospitals and surgeries, to care in the community.
Once all the nominations are in, a judging panel will draw up a short list, which will be announced in The News.
Now all we need you to do is to get nominating.
Mark Waldron, editor of The News, said: ‘We are proud to organise these awards, which are in their third year.
‘Over the past two years we’ve had some tremendous nominations and I know that again this year we will be able to celebrate true champions in our health service.’
The awards night takes place on Friday, September 21, at the Portsmouth Guildhall and will be hosted by TV presenter Fred Dinenage.
This year we’re also inviting sponsors to sponsor individual awards categories.
So far GP Practice of the Year is being sponsored by Spofforths Chartered Accountants; Dental Practice of the Year is being sponsored by NatWest; Hospital Doctor of the Year is sponsored by Spire Portsmouth Hospital; Hospital Team of the Year is being sponsored by Lalys Pharmacy and Ambulance Worker of the Year is being sponsored by the University of Portsmouth.
Any other businesses or organisations that would like to sponsor a category can contact Liz Parker at email@example.com or call (023) 9262 2202 for more.
