PANTOMIME characters paid a visit to Queen Alexandra Hospital.
This year Ferneham Hall, in Osborn Road, Fareham, is staging Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.
But as the children in QA are unable to go to the theatre, some of the cast decided to pay them a visit instead.
Francesca Leyland is playing the Fairy Good Apple in the production and has had first-hand experience of why visits like this are so important.
She said: ‘This was my first trip to a children’s ward as a panto star and it was great to see the kids.
‘When you’re stuck inside a hospital as a child I know how important these kinds of visits can be.
‘When I was three, I was in hospital because I’d had a heart operation.
‘While I was there Disney characters came in to visit, and I still remember it now.
‘I still have the picture I had taken of me with them and I hope these children will remember this visit, and that it brought some cheer to them.’
Stefan Booth is playing the Prince.
He said: ‘It was great to have the opportunity to support children and their families.
‘No one wants to be in hospital, especially over Christmas.
‘Seeing the children was quite emotional, but it was also great see they were being well looked-after at this brilliant hospital.’
