A NEW level could be built at a hospital car park at the same time as health services are moved around.
As reported, Solent NHS Trust is planning to move some of its services from St James’ hospital in Locksway Road, Milton to the revamped St Mary’s community health campus nearby.
It is only using about five per cent of the St James’ site, and now aims to move out and sell off part of the land, possibly for housing.
The plans were discussed at yesterday’s health overview and scrutiny panel meeting at Portsmouth City Council.
Concerns were raised over parking at St Mary’s.
But a spokesman for NHS Property Services, which currently runs the St Mary’s site, said that talks are in place to see if a ramp can be installed to introduce another level of car parking.
The move will be completed by March next year.
