PEOPLE are being asked for their views on whether a walk-in healthcare centre should move.
The Portsmouth Clinical Commissioning Group pays for the centre in Guildhall Walk and the contract is due to run out in March next year.

As a result, an option put forward by the CCG is to move the walk-in centre to St Mary’s Treatment Centre, in Milton Road, Portsmouth – where there is already a walk-in centre – which it says will make things less confusing for patients.
The contract for a separate GP surgery based in the Guildhall Walk Healthcare Centre is also due to run out at the same time.
Innes Richens, the CCG’s chief operating officer, said: ‘We’re keen to hear from as many people as possible before any decisions are made, because those views can help us to get it right.
‘Looking into the future, it’s clear we will have to look again at how urgent care services and GP practices work.
‘The NHS cannot carry on exactly as we are now as demand rises, because eventually services will no longer be able to cope.
‘The end of the contracts at Guildhall Walk next year offers us a chance to start thinking about how the NHS should work in the future and, although we have already received a huge amount of feedback already, we want to give people another opportunity to let us know their views, ahead of any decisions.’
The CCG has previously said its preferred option is to move the walk-in centre to St Mary’s – a plan developed after 18 months of listening to improvements people want and understanding how services are used.
The GP surgery consultation is open to those patients registered to the practice only.
The options there are to keep it where it is, move it, or end the contract and tell patients to register with practices near their homes or workplace.
The surveys run until the end of August. To take part visit portsmouthccg.nhs.uk and click on the tab titled Guildhall Walk.
