WEST Sussex County Council is encouraging vulnerable people to be safe and get the flu jab this winter.

The vaccination is free to pregnant women, people over 65, carers and people with long-term conditions such as diabetes.

Peter Catchpole, cabinet member for adults’ services, said: ‘Flu can be life-threatening and prove fatal. I would encourage all residents who are eligible to contact their local GP surgery and take up the offer.’
