CANCER patients are being given hair styling tips at a salon in Portsmouth.

Staff at Toni & Guy, in Cascades shopping centre, have been trained to cut people’s wigs in a way that looks natural.

Employees are also showing patients the best ways to fit their wigs and talking to them about their hair loss treatment.

The initiative – called Strength in Style – is a partnership between the hair salon and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Partnership manager for Macmillan Sally Hill said: ‘We’re very excited about our partnership with Toni & Guy.

‘Hair loss can have a huge impact on a person undergoing treatment and their relationship with a hairdresser is extremely personal.

‘Strength in Style will help us in our ambition to reach and improve the lives of people affected by cancer by giving them the strength and the confidence to have more good days.’
