POLICE officers visited poorly children at Queen Alexandra Hospital and donated gifts to spread some festive cheer.

The St Thomas team in Portsmouth visited QA and handed over 500 presents, including vouchers, to families.

PC Claire Marsh said: ‘This is the fourth year we’ve visited the children at QA and donated presents.

‘As a team we have been collecting donations since October, so it’s lovely to finally see them handed out and making a difference to the day of the children on the wards.

‘Thank you to all the businesses that donated to make this visit happen. We’ve been overwhelmed by donations.

‘The vouchers for the parents are equally as special as the meal out will hopefully give the parents respite from what must be a very stressful time.’
