POMPEY players signed autographs and took pictures for patients at QA Hospital.
The whole of the first-team squad visited children and adults at the hospital, in Cosham, to bring them a bit of Christmas cheer.
Players were split into two teams to talk to the patients and give them signed photographs.
Johnny Ertl, club captain, visited the paediatric ward. He said: ‘Days like today are important for everybody involved, both the team and of course the children here.
‘It’s important for the club as we are a community club and how that works is every single individual helps one another out - from the players on the pitch to the people in the stands and those who can’t make it but still show their strong support.
‘It is about giving something back to those who give so much of their time, their effort, those who give everything for this football club.’
And the patients enjoyed seeing the players.
Ben Lolljowaheer, aged 11, said: ‘It was nice seeing the players and it was a good surprise.
‘I like the posters I got especially because they were signed.’
