HEALTH bosses have chosen a hospital trust to become the main provider of orthopaedic services – 10 months after it lost the contract to a private health company.

The NHS Coastal West Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group has launched formal contract negotiations with Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester.

The deal comes six months after the withdrawal of Bupa CSH, which was initially the preferred bidder for the five-year £235m contract.
