SHE has dedicated 40 years to Queen Alexandra Hospital and that landmark was celebrated with a surprise party.

Jude Parker, senior trauma and orthopaedic secretary at QA in Cosham, marked her 40th anniversary with colleagues yesterday.

She said: ‘It was nice to see more than 30 of my colleagues turning up to celebrate the milestone with me.

‘We shared stories and memories of our time, some even dating back to 1977.’

Colin Beevor, rheumatology matron and service manager, praised Jude for her hard work.

‘For Jude there is no “typical” day – she is always ahead of the game, planning her and her team’s workload in advance, even if that means staying back or getting in early,’ he said.

‘She enjoys her job as there is never a dull moment.

‘With 40 years’ experience she is able to use her contacts to enhance patient care and experience.’
