A HOSPITAL has been recognised for its commitment to involve the community in the delivery of services.

Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham, was awarded the Engagement Champion of the Year award.

It was given by Membership Engagement Services for its commitment to actively involve patients, families and carers on the design, delivery and monitoring of services.

Head of patient experience Sarah Balchin said: ‘This award is recognition of all the hard work that our patients, families, carers and members of the community put in to helping our staff deliver a positive experience of care.

‘I am privileged to work with some of the most inspirational people in my role and over the last couple of years have developed a great network of friends both inside and outside of the hospital.’
