PACKING your bags after shopping can seem like a military operation – making sure everything is put in precisely.

So for one day only, 25 military staff from Queen Alexandra Hospital’s surgical assessment unit, will be undertaking a charity bag-pack.

Corporal Mike Westall said: ‘The aim is to raise money for the HCPT – The Pilgrimage Trust and Forces Children’s Trust.

‘These are both two very worthy charities who give so much back to those in need.

‘Events like this also help to maintain the high levels of team cohesion we have within the surgical department.

‘And it’s also to raise the profile of the Ministry of Defence Hospital Unit within the community.

‘We are proud of our affiliation with QA, and for providing emergency care to the people of Portsmouth and the surrounding areas.’

The bag pack takes place on Monday, November 18, between 1pm and 4pm, at the Tesco Extra store, in Northarbour.

Information will be available about the charities.
