A HOSPITAL team which helps patients living with arthritis has been shortlisted for a national award.

The rheumatology nursing team at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham, has organised dozens of conferences and events to help people with arthritis and connective tissues diseases look after themselves.

More than 3,000 patients and members of the public have attended events since 2005.

The hospital team has been shortlisted in the Innovation in Rheumatology and Rheumatoid Arthritis Award in this year’s Nurse Awards, organised by Nursing Standard.

Colin Beevor, rheumatology department matron at QA, said: ‘We are delighted that the hard work of the whole team has been recognised.’

The awards ceremony will take place next month.
