THE chief executive of the trust that runs Queen Alexandra Hospital says she is ‘proud’ the site has been chosen to feature in a week-long TV feature.

As previously reported, the Cosham hospital will be on ITV’s This Morning from Monday on a feature called Health Alert Live, hosted by Peter Andre.

It is part of celebrations to mark the 65th birthday of the NHS and will focus on the jobs doctors and nurses provide to the public, as well as conversations with patients.

Ursula Ward, chief executive of Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, said: ‘Since the NHS was launched in 1948, a lot has changed.

‘We are very proud that Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust has been chosen to highlight some of the services that we provide, and we are grateful that we can show our recognition of this milestone in this way.

Our staff are really excited about this special anniversary week – there’ll be plenty of surprises on the way.’

Various departments will feature throughout the week.
