SPONSORS are being sought for a fundraising race where runners get splattered with paint.

The first Portsmouth Colour Me Happy Run took place at Lakeside, North Harbour, last year with 600 runners.

This year it will be held at Queen Elizabeth Country Park on June 28, where at least double the number of people are expected to take part.

It is organised by the community interest company LinkedUp Fundraising, Old Portsmouth.

Managing director Clare Lay said: ‘Runners can choose which charity they want to support.

‘The course is 2.5km or 5km and everyone who takes part will get a T-shirt, sweatband, medal, water, glasses and cereal bar.

‘It’s going to be a really brilliant event and we hope lots of people take part.’

All profits made at the event will be donated by LinkedUp Fundraising to Wessex Cancer Trust.
