COMMUNITY nursery nurses from across Hampshire have been recognised for their expertise and contribution in supporting families to help keep their children healthy and safe.

Workers were recognised at a conference hosted by Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Community nursery nurses Sarah Remnant and Leanne Gelder said: ‘The conference provided us with a golden opportunity for us to share our good practice, network with our colleagues and build on our existing skills.

‘This opportunity will undoubtedly assist us in improving the service we can offer to families, enabling parents to become more confident with their parenting skills.’

Community nursery nurses work alongside the trust’s health visitors, school nurses and specialist services staff across Hampshire to support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme.

It is a national programme that aims to give children the best possible start in life.
