ASTHMA sufferers are being urged to recycle their used inhalers as part of World Asthma Day.
The Co-operative Pharmacy in Bury Road, Gosport, will be collecting used inhalers from May 3.
This is the first recycling scheme of its kind in the UK and the pharmacy is one of only 40 taking part.
Manager Peter McCarthy said: ‘Community pharmacists are ideally placed to help reduce the impact of inhalers on the environment.
‘Bringing back used inhalers couldn’t be simpler.’
Around 35 million inhalers are used by asthmatics every year.
