INFORMATION on how to get help and find out more about mental health will be available at a free event.

Solent NHS Trust’s adult mental health community development workers team has organised the session.

Mental Health Awareness Week runs until May 17, and the team’s event aims to combat stigma, dispel myths and get everyone talking about mental health issues.

Lola Adegboye, a community development worker for the trust, said: ‘One in four people will experience a mental health issue in the UK every year that is why events like this are so important.

‘The event’s theme is “it’s time to talk about our mental health” and aims to help breakdown the stigma associated with the word “mental” by raising the awareness that everyone has mental health.’

The event takes place on Wednesday from 9am to 2.30pm at the Oasis Centre, in Arundel Street, Landport.
