TWO sisters whose family members have died from cancer have started a craft fair to raise money to fight the disease.

Jan and Jackie Hickman have seen their grandmother and mother suffer cancer and several other relatives fight the disease over the years.

Their charity craft, gift and vintage fair is held monthly at South Hayling United Reformed Church for Breast Cancer Care.

The next fair is on Saturday, from 10am-1pm.

Jan, from Hayling, said: ‘Unfortunately our nan died when I was pregnant with my first-born.

‘She had lung cancer. Our mother died at the age of 79 in 2010 and we have other family members who have either died from it or who are fighting it.

‘There are loads of charities but we felt we had to support one that was close to our hearts.

‘This thing called cancer affects so many people.’
