SUPER slimmer Darin McCloud will be taking part in this year’s London Marathon.
The 46-year-old has described getting a place in the 26-mile route in April as ‘brilliant’.
Darin, of Stanley Road, Stamshaw, said: ‘I am walking on air at the moment.
‘It’s brilliant to be running it this year, and I will be joined by two others.’
He added: ‘This means I will have to start training harder, but I’m looking forward to it.’
As previously reported in The News, traffic warden Darin hit the headlines last year when he admitted he was piling on the pounds to qualify for weight-loss surgery.
But instead he changed his eating habits and started running to lose weight. He went from 21st to 16st 10lbs.
Darin has discovered a passion for running and will be taking part in the Brighton half-marathon next month, the Marwell Wildlife 10k run in May and the British 10k London Run in July.
He has entered this year’s Great South Run for a second time.
Darin will be running for charity Look, which helps children with visual impairments.
