THE Spinnaker Tower will turn blue to publicise an autism charity.

Autism Hampshire said the tower in Gunwharf Quays will turn blue on April 2, as part of the charity’s Light It Up Blue campaign.

It aims to raise awareness of autism and its effects on families and individuals across Hampshire.

The New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth will also turn blue and will kick off World Autism Awareness Month.

Autism Hampshire is inviting all individuals, schools, colleges, community groups, companies and churches to get involved and have blue-themed fundraisers.

Georgia O’Rourke, events and community fundraiser for Autism Hampshire, said: ‘Taking part in Light It Up Blue is a great way to have fun while supporting a great cause.

‘There are many exciting ways you can get involved and we can provide you with a free fundraising pack to get you started.’
