Have your say

IT’S one of the most rewarding nights on the local health calender, and we are inviting you to attend.

Since April this year we have asked people to put forward those in the health sector who they feel go above and beyond what is expected of them, and nominate them for a Best of Health Awards 2014.

We asked you to nominate groups, individuals, volunteers and organisations in 13 categories, including the new Innovation of the Year category.

And we are also proud to welcome Eight Wealth Management on board, which is an overall sponsor for these special awards.

We’ve had entries for doctors, nurses, dentists and pharmacists, who have been outstanding in their field, to patients and their families.

And now we are inviting you to come along and be a part of the award-giving evening.

Last year the paediatric team at Queen Alexandra Hospital won the Hospital Team of the Year category.

Hannah Buckley, consultant paediatrician, said: ‘The paediatric team was delighted to be nominated and then to win the best team award.

‘It was a wonderful acknowledgement of all the hard work that all members of the team do day to day.

‘The representatives of the paediatric team who attended the awards night had an exciting evening and were very pleased to be able to take the award back to the department to share it with their colleagues.

‘It was a great morale booster for the paediatric team and created a collective smile across the whole department.

‘It was much-needed positive feedback during a very busy time for the unit.’

This year’s ceremony takes place on Friday, October 17, and is being held at the Portsmouth Guildhall.

Tickets cost £38.50 per person and include a welcome drink, two-course meal and a disco.

Dietary requirements will need to be given prior to the awards.

Doors open at 6.45pm, to buy tickets visit
