THERE are still a few weeks left to get a place in The Rowans Hospice abseil.

As previously reported, this year organisers are hoping for a big uptake from younger people as there has been a change of location.

It is being held at the University of Portsmouth’s 11-storey Mercantile House.

Each year the abseil raises funds for hospice services, which is based in Purbrook.

The abseil takes place on Saturday, May 18, and is open to all ages.

Full training is given on the day, along with equipment.

People are encouraged to raise money through sponsorship.

Registration costs £15 per person.
