A HOSPICE is getting a slice of an £80,000 grant.

Hampshire County Council is giving hospices in the county money to support carers of people nearing the end of their lives. The Rowans Hospice, in Purbrook, will be given £10,000 to provide unpaid support to family members or friends of people who are terminally ill.

Councillor Liz Fairhurst, in charge of adult social care and public health, said: ‘These grants will help ensure carers have access to services to help them stay mentally and physically well at a time when they most need it.’
