THE Rowansfest is back this weekend and organisers hope it will be bigger than ever.

The annual three-day festival takes place at the Fox and Hounds pub, in Stakes Hill Road, Waterlooville.

This year live music will feature heavily, as there will be bands performing on all three nights from Friday to Sunday.

Money raised from the event goes to the Rowans Hospice, in Purbrook.

Last year’s festival raised £3,725, which organisers hope to top. Live music starts at 8pm this Friday. Entrance is free.

Then on the Saturday a family fun day runs from midday to 6pm, which includes a children’s entertainer, a face painter, a tug of war game and a chance to throw foam pies at the landlord in the stocks.

On Sunday there will be live music from 7pm. Entry is by wristband only.

Entrance for Saturday or Sunday costs £3, or you can buy a two-day wristband for £5.
