STAFF and volunteers at The Rowans Hospice took time out to have ‘Tea at Three’ as part of national hospice awareness month.

Hospices across the country have been holding events and encouraging the community to do so too as a way to raise money.

About 25 staff and volunteers at The Rowans indulged in some tea and cakes at the hospice in Purbrook Heath.

They also held a raffle and quiz and raised almost £100.

Amanda Mahoney, PR and events fundraiser at the Rowans, said: ‘It was a really nice afternoon. There was a good crowd of us and it was nice taking a break and getting together.

‘The event raised a really good amount of money.’

The hospice also encouraged supporters in the community to hold their own events at work or at home.
