PORTSMOUTH is aiming to become the best breastfeeding city within the next 10 years.

The Portsmouth Supports Breastfeeding Strategy Group, compromised of representatives from Solent NHS Trust, Portsmouth City Council, children’s centres, Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, GPs and the Breastfeeding Network aims to remove barriers to breastfeeding.

Starting today the group will be holding events in the city to celebrate a regional Breastfeeding Awareness Week.

Tomorrow an stall will be in the Cascades Shopping Centre, Portsmouth, from 9am to 5pm.

n Lake Road Health Centre, Tuesday, June 24.

n St James’s Hospital, Locksway Road, Saturday, June 28.

n Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, Saturday, July 5.
