A SPECIALIST heart failure nursing team has made it to the final stage of a national award scheme.

The Waterlooville group, run by Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, are through to the final seven for the Patient and Care awards, run by the Health Service Journal.

The team provides care, advice and support in the community to patients who have experienced heart failure through drop-in clinics based in the community across Hampshire.

Trish Phillips, the lead for the service, said: ‘I am very proud of every member of our team, from our admin ladies to all our nurses.

‘They work extremely hard, and all have the patient’s best interests at heart. Making it into the final shortlist is still great recognition for all the hard work the team does.’
