VISITORS to a wedding fair raised £4,967 for a hospital.

The Portsmouth Hospitals Charity event took place at the Mountbatten Leisure Centre in North End in aid of Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.

The charity’s fundraising assistant Jodie Young said she was delighted with how it went.

Ms Young said: ‘Everyone had such a great time.

‘There was a lovely atmosphere and I would like to thank all of the exhibitors for their pitch fee donations and raffle prizes.

‘We are thrilled the event has been such a success and look forward to organising another one next year.’

The fair included a bridal catwalk show, live bands, a charity raffle and a display of owls.

Brides-to-be explored a range of options for all aspects of their wedding day from cars, venues, dresses, formalwear and jewellery to flowers, cakes, photography, entertainment, hair and beauty.

Money raised will go towards improving the hospital’s facilities, paying for additional equipment and supporting research programmes.
