THE World’s Biggest Coffee Morning returns for its 26th year and the charity behind it hopes to raise more money than ever before.

On Friday, Macmillan cancer support is asking everyone to take part, either by signing up to host a coffee morning or attending someone else’s coffee morning.

There are scores of fundraising coffee mornings happening across the area, and, below, we tell you what’s going on where you live.

Bertie the Macmillan mobile cancer information and support bus, will be in Commercial Road, Portsmouth, on the day of the coffee morning, from 10am to 4pm.

Experts from the charity will be giving advice on all aspects of living with the disease – from the physical to financial impact.

Kim Appleby, Macmillan fundraising manager for Portsmouth, who will also be attending, said: ‘We want to make sure no one has to face cancer alone but we can’t do it without the amazing people who fundraise for us.’

Last year, 3,270 coffee mornings were held in Hampshire, raising almost £700,000 to help towards vital services and support for people affected by cancer.

Fergus Jones, business manager at Contemplation Homes, a care home in Waterlooville, said: ‘We’re hosting a coffee morning for Macmillan as part of our new partnership with them.

‘We’re really excited to be part of this event.’
