YOUNG diabetics are being invited to test new phone applications to help handle their condition.
The Diabetes App Challenge is part of a research project, funded by Diabetes UK, which is inviting people aged 16 to 25 to design and test internet and mobile phone apps.
It is hoped the apps will educate young people in monitoring their condition to avoid future problems.
Short-listed apps will be available online to young people with diabetes for testing at their next care appointment.
Designers of the short-listed apps will receive a payment every time their app is downloaded, and the most successful ones will go on to inform future research on diabetes self-management for young people.
The competition closing date is October 14. To find out more visit diabetesappchallenge.org.uk
