A SIX-YEAR-OLD girl who sparked a two-year fundraising campaign to have a life-changing operation is recovering after having the procedure.

Grace Shiers, of Portchester, who has cerebral palsy, had a five-hour operation called selective dorsal rhizotomy, at a Bristol hospital today.

Grace’s Goal raised £42,000 which has been spent on physio to help the youngster qualify for the operation and for the aftercare she will need.

Her grandmother Eve Woodley said: ‘Grace is in recovery and all went well.

‘She has even wiggled her toes.’
