THE NHS is appealing for more people to give blood and help save lives.
This month people can become a blood donor in the area by visiting one of the following three locations from 1.30pm to 3.25pm or 4.30pm to 7.30pm:
n Monday, October 24, at the Fareham United Reformed Church, Osborn Road South, Fareham.
n Tuesday, October 25, at the Lee-on-the-Solent Community Association, Twyford Drive, Lee-On-the-Solent.
n Wednesday, October 26, Sarisbury Green Community Centre, The Green, Sarisbury Green.
The sessions are run by NHS Blood and Transplant.
Most people can give blood if they’re aged between 17 to 65, and in general good health.
You need to weigh at least 7st 12lb and can donate every four months.
Blood can be used for a range of medical needs, including transfusions in emergencies.
